  • $ 300.00

For sale is an impressive Spinosaurus tooth from South Morocco. There is no restoration, only a few small, glued fractures. The fractures indicate that this tooth was broken during excavation (like most teeth) and then repaired. Other than that, there has been no tampering. The tooth is conically shaped, with smooth facets visible on the enamel and the root is partially intact and the crown has minimal erosion. The display box is included.

This fossil was measured with a caliper.

Spinosaurus roamed the earth during the lower Albian to lower Cenomanian stages of the Cretaceous Period. It was larger than Tyrannosaurus Rex and thought to be the largest predator to every walk the Earth. The skull was very crocodilian; a long, sensitive snout with conical teeth that lacked serrations (usually a crocodilian feature) and is characterized by its very tall neural spines. Spinosaurus is the first dinosaur known to have adapted to an aquatic lifestyle. A study in 2013 showed that the jaws were quite week, thus most likely Spinosaurus preyed on fish more than meat.
